Brent and Angela Carver are marriage coaches who live in FL and have four children. They met at Bible college and were a perfect match made in Heaven from their very first date. These two have stayed married for 28 years (and running), through good times and bad, happy and sad, and everything else in between. They know what it’s like to go through great trauma and loss, as they have grieved the death of parents, miscarriages, a prodigal child, loss of high-level income, family betrayal, challenging foster/adopted/special needs children, and other trials of life that have left them feeling battered and bruised. Through it all, they kept ahold of their faith and each other, drawing from the strength they found in Jesus and their diamond-tough marriage. All of these challenges pushed and strained their marriage to its absolute maximum. Close friends would tell them, “ I don’t know how you are still standing with everything that has happened to you. “ Additionally, they were told by other observers that they reminded them of the weeble-wobbles that you can push down, but they just pop right back up. It is a relief to tell you that God brought resolve and healing to everything on this list of losses except for getting back their prodigal child back. Sadly, they are still waiting for that child to return to Jesus, but even in the midst of this painful storm, God is sustaining them and giving them the strength and courage they need to hold strong to their faith in believing that their prodigal child WILL one day return. Once that happens, rest assured a great celebration will indeed be in order! In the meantime, they are waiting with much anticipation to see how God’s glory will shine through this part of their story and are so grateful to have each other to lean on during these moments of darkness and grief. Their marriage is truly their strongest asset and one that has been tested in even more ways than what is mentioned here.
